Charcoal is back

Really enjoyed drawing with charcoal again:

charcoal drawing, Nabil dreaming Charcoal on paper. Nabil dreaming. In this drawing he has a bit crooked nose, also in real life his nose is very straight and beautiful. I just did not know how to erase things with charcoal yet when I did this drawing and kind of don’t want to change it now anymore.

charcoal drawing, Kyiv in winter 1900
1900′s – a lady in front of a Kyiv church. I made this drawing from one of the first pictures of Kyiv on display at the Musem of One Street on Andriyivsky descent. Love the moody winter setting and the lady’s dress in this one.

    Nice one!

I too love how stark and visceral the blacks can get with charcoal. Its like the blacks are do deep I feel it in my stomache? Not sure if it makes sense haha!

Anyhow, hope to see more charcoal works from you!

By the way, if you sketch lightly you can erase the charcoal with those regular plastic erasers.

    Hope it helps!
