Pomgranate - RESERVED

pomgranate, oil, painting, Ukraine, ukrainian, fruit 15×15 sm, oil on board, 2008

Ever since I came back from my Georgia trip, I wanted to paint one. There I saw them growing on trees! More so, I learned they can explode from inside when get ripe! Again, I had to fight with the family for having these last bits to myself before it gets eaten. Sounds like we have too many people and too little food in the house, but the thing is: you just want to eat so much more something sitting prominently on a well-lit pedestal rather then in the kitchen fruit basket, especially if you are a baby.

Yan de Vliegher paints amazing museum interiors.

Wow, great painting. I am a fanatic of the fruit. I did not know that they explode. I love the hard skin on the outside. The colors are always unpredictable, and they give no indication about the quality of what is inside.
