On the Kyiv metro
Waiting for the train 7×7 inches oil on gessoed board 2008
this painting is to be exhibited at the Islington Arts Factory Autumn Salon.
. It’s been tempting to work on these in London and not going back home for the whole summer. Taking the tube yesterday made me think of this scene and compare the differences among the metros. Kyiv one is more spacious and quick, and it is run down in a different way then the tube is. The advertising is of course not as clever but featuring a devoushka almost every time.
Went to the Bayswarer art and craft fair that stretches every day between Quennesway and Lancaster gate tube stations. One gentleman offered amazing cityscapes, the rest was much of the same Andiyivsky uzviz type of fare.
Later popped into Serpentine to check out new Frank Gehry structure and Richard Prince Continuation exhibit (more of stereotyped beautiful nurses).

Dear olechko. I was speaking to Avril today and she wants to know when you’ll be back in Kyiv, because she regrets not being able to get more of your pieces!
Make sure you schedule your visit for AFTER I am back (mid-October).
