This painting is to be exhibited at the Islington Arts Factory Autumn Salon.
I took this tram once for the experience, they should be only offered tourists - most dated back to the 60s and are so slow. Because of shoddy drivers around Kyiv, accidents are frequent, every time accident happens on the tram tracks, the traffic is stopped for hours.
This painting is part of my post-Soviet series. Yesterday thought a bit about why these pictures keep coming up and realized this is why: the changes from well regulated and predictable social system having collapsed opened for the people the overwhelming choice. Unpredictability and too much choice has created uncertainty and unhappiness. I’ve been documenting it in the series how people come to terms with this in their every day life…
