Nino and her mom on Shardeni

Nino and her mom on Shardeni, 2008, oil on canvas, 6x6

2008, oil on board, 6×6 inches, commission

Last year about the same time I have visited Nino in Tbilisi, Georgia. The trip was very super memorable and the hosts more hospitable then anywhere else I went before. This scene happened on the most popular street in old town that was recently refurbished and packed with modern restaurants and cafes.  This is not the only place in Tbilisi to get $5 coffee, but the concentration of all things nice (French, Moroccan, Italian places etc.) creates a stark contrast with the rest of the town.  But the cuture and esthetics of the place are so much more and a total must-visit place for everyone curious.

Mr Moi was going to go back this week before his trip to me. But he didn’t. We might have to save the trip for when we can go as a family ;)
