A can of sguschenka – condenced milk
2008 oil on panel 15×15cm SOLD
I really missed my sguschenka in coffee. Papa teased me the other day with a can of it via Skype video and ended up in a picture. It’s a real shame sguschenka is hard to get in London (sure there must be some specialty shops). In the States it’s dulce de leche – a Mexican staple – sitting on every confectionary isle. No, but I still definitely miss Ukraine more then the States.

yes, there should definitely be a way to get some. Crystal Palace where I live is full of people from Poland – do the also like condensed milk? There are several polish delicattessen here. Otherwise they are really fond of that kind of milk in Malaysia and Thailand also (should be similar, right?) … maybe try that kind of Asian store?

head down to your fav market and go one of the italian or spanish shops – they’ll have it for sure. Or get some bog standard condensed milk at the supermarket and boil it in its tin (with a hole or two in it) for a couple hours and hey presto!

Thank you, guys! I should have thought of it – yes will take the trip to the Polish shops first. Mmmm, a feast is coming up sooner then I thought: some of sguschenka and banana on a bread – with coffee – yum!
