This is a post-visit impression of Kyiv.  Traffic there is bad as usual, and s shot of some historic landmark is impossible without one. I particularly like the overhanging streetlamps on wires.

Love all the artwork discovered by Dear Ada, this time it’s The acrylic paintings of warehouses and industrial settings at night by Erin Mcsavaney and very cute birds and tea sets paintings  by Susan Homer.

On our latest visit to Lviv  I met this amazing artist Oleksandr Fedorchuk ( we actually went to art school together, him being two years senior). Now a renowned icon painter, does amazing Byzantium style works in traditional technique.

Besides we visited our old digs at Dzyga to drink coffee Lviv style and catch the latest exhibit. Check out a new show at Zelena Kanapa. Finally checked out Kryivka to drink some good beer by Persha Lvivska Brovarnya, medivka and experience the nationalist Ukrainian army atmosphere - machine guns, Georgia supporting manifestos and field trip type of food. A climb to the top of city hall for breathtaking vies and visit to many bookshops and antique books market by Ivana Fedorova monument were all a must.

Another of the bee farm views from my trip.

Jetted through top galleries in Kyiv. Bit of a failure at start - Kollektsiya gallery sublet their space to some soap film crew. Next stop RA gallery featured some Latin American artists in main room as well as plethora of new art by established locals in the back (Kavsan’s pseudo Dutch still life). Their Thursday night opening features new photos by two Georgian photographers Irakli Dzneladze ans Amiko Kavtaradze. Since last visit, I learned that RA art and photo schools are growing up with even more classes and subjects to offer, feeding the need of their graduates for new and updated. In about a month a city wide Kievfotocom festival will bring tons of vry good international photography.

KyivFineArt propsed a semi realistic paintings of oil, sea, sand nudes by Elena and Tatyana Polyaschenko. The impression is - semi professional take on modern art.

Soviart and Karas galleries offered more impressive photo realism canvases and a special Soap project worth a look. Karas’ next big project China forever promises to be equally interesting.

Zeh initiated Samozahvat project, this time housed on a construction side on Borychiv tik 23a and presented an  array of Ukrainian modern greats. Except for Solomko’s light box, a nice installation sculpture and canvas by  Vasiliy Tsagolov.

And finally Gudimov’s Sumish installatin of antique decorative art and some modern art by Tistol, Vlada ralko and others creats a nice genretal impression.
