Looking at Hopper’s painting
Really admiring Hopper’s artwork recently as I got myself a book on his art at Foyles, called Silent Theater. It was funny to learn that some critics said he wasn’t a good painter (yeah, right), that his figures look quite lifeless and simplified – but it’s because of this starkness and simplicity his art looks so enigmatic and unique.
