La Duree at Harrods, interior
Today I am scrapping my large commission painting and staring it all over again; seems like it happens to me once in about every ten paintings, and this one happened to be the largest I’ve done and the one I spent two weeks of work, but life goes on.
To freshen up the perspective, I made a small oil from the La Duree interior from the Sunday visit that I already recorded here. But there is no way I am moving to West London (too much in love with the pleasures of the East End, more about it tomorrow).

Love this one Olha – that abstract “figures within an interior landscape” sort of feel it has and the subdued palette works so well. Will you build up the bigger commission from this?

Oh no, it’s always heartbreaking when that happens. Good luck with the next version – I bet it’ll be gorgeous, as ever.
