A drawing room at 1830

Another fantastic drawing room from the Geffrye museum installation. Moody blue colour scheme attracted me here. The information on the set states that the drawing room was mostly used for meeting guests, reading, playing music and making art – my kind of place in the house!

Even though I painted it, I have no idea what is that framed board on a pole standing behind the chair on the left. Any ideas from English historic interior connoisseurs?

These interiors are so rich and striking Olha. Is the framed board on a pole what looked to me like the lower picture on the wall? If so, I think people displayed tapestries on such boards on poles and they acted as “fire screens” to stop the ladies burning their fair complexions. Lovely paintings anyway.
