Making a Mark post featuring the Blue Chairs
I am lucky to have my Dennis Severs’ House Blue Chairs painting illustrating Making a Mark’s preview of the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize show, which I am shortlisted for as well among 65 other artists. I got inspired by Katherine’s example to post online my next painting actual life size, with all it’s imperfections and fresh paint glares. Btw, do let me know if you have a strong preference for either.
So here is my latest – Blue Bank II, one of three parts of a triptych about my currently favorite place to observe – the Bank junction in the City of London.

Congratulations again Olha for getting short listed for the Lynn Stainer Painters prize! The two paintings short-listed are wonderful so fingers crossed you win a top award! Not sure about whether I like the larger view image or not. I think I probably do prefer it. It’s good to get a better impression of the whole work, brush marks, everything, but I really don’t know. Some people have now made their blog images very big and it takes some irritating scrolling to see a full image on the page at once. This size is not too bad though.
