Another cosy place in Rye, the Apothecary cafe; had a delicious coffee cake, alas with the proper English Breakfast tea.

Another addition to my imaginary library would be a beautiful bust of some composer, probably – Chaikovsky. They had one, fittingly, of a beautiful girl, at the Mermaid Inn.
I got a clever comment on my previous painting of the Mermaid Inn – about how hard it is to lug the accumulated book library around as you move. Since I am a nomad in heart, I will temporary take up a comfy chair in the other room of the Inn instead, with a cup of tea, plugged into my next audio book. Large library with actual books and comfy sofas of my own will have to wait till a later date.
Happy to get back to painting oils after a week of basking in the sun. Did some nice watercolors while on vacation as well actually. About this painting: absolutely loved the plush old school leather chairs and ancient wooden beams at this inn in Rye. As soon as I sat down there, immediately started fantasising about having a beautiful library of my own, full of dusty books, dotted with green lamps and old leather chairs.
From the county walk I took last fall: huge open skies, lush grounds and loads of fresh air.
