The favourite discovery for me there was Palazzo della Ragione on it’s main square. It’s single room exhibit of Canalettos, Moronis and Tallones with  a medieval staircase leading up to it offers a unique museum going experience.  Here’s a view from one of the side streets, via Gombito,  I quickly sketched in the evening before hopping on the  funicular and to the airport to catch the flight to Stansted.

The barrels storage are particularly impressive. A glass of their rich Vino Nobile for dinner is enough to fill me up.

This image dates back to my trip to Italy in 2008.  I spent two beautiful sunny days in Bologna then and this was one of my brightest memories of the place. Fantastic architecture lines the historic streets – arcades, or gallerias of shopping and dining,  unique in it’s aesthetics from what I’ve seen before. One of these hides a gem of gallery: Galleria Forni.  I would love to exhibit there one day.

Arriving somewhere in the middle, was this landing with very inviting chairs tempting me to stop for a rest.
