Top of Honchara St.

This is one street up from my Kyiv apartment, just as you turn off Yaroslaviv val to go towards Ploshcha Peremogy.  The stark contrast of light on the street just washed with rain caught my attention. (a better quality  pic to come when the picture dries up so I can scan it).

Here’s another capture of Kyiv traffic.  Afraid the picture does not give credit to the great play of blue and purple here.

Found interesting art on the net: Oana Lauric (via Greywaren Art).

Here’s my take on a dusk cityscape. I always had an idea to picture the horrific traffic scenes from Kyiv (here’s a previous take on it) but the dusk time present lots of new challenge in terms of coloring.

On Kyiv art scene:

A new discovery (thank you Anette for a tip!) is Vladimir Kozhuhar at Kyiv Fine Art gallery. He paints figurative daily modern scenes on a large scale. Love his choice of subject!

Maksim Mamsikov is currently putting out a great show at Collection (Collektsiya) Gallery.
