Skies over Shoreditch rail station

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

There is a quiet park hidden away off Brick Lane that offers a sweeping view of the city skyline and the clouds over the new overground  rail link in London.  Try to never miss it on my regular trips to Atlantis art supplies shop. Keep looking up the skies.

Just a little peek at how the magic of the Dennis Severs’ House is maintained. David Milne, the House’ curator is at work here.

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

The city walls are closing in on my skyscapes. I do love the subject though and only putting it away for some time.

Spitalfields market: Lamb and Commerical St.

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

A corner of the liveliest market in the area, it’s busy there during the week with those lucky City workers who can flock there for  lunch and a have browse around boutiques and vintage stalls.

St. John’s Square

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011

It’s hard to get the work squeezed into a school-off schedule, so my daily paintings are less regular these days. But yesterday, after a trip to the hair stylist and a good run around in the playground with my 4 yr old, I stumbled onto this beautiful tower nearby St. John’s Square in Clerkenwell. It was a lucky find since someone suggested a while ago to take a look at it – a real gem in the midst of the City. No chance I could try to explore it inside with the Mini in tow though, beautiful exterior for now.

Fournier and Commercial St.

Friday, July 29th, 2011

Today’s painting of the street running past the wonderful Hawksmoor church in Spitalfields. No bell tower in sight, just of the shadow it casts on the surrounding buildings.

Leadenhall place, lunch hour

Thursday, July 28th, 2011

Leadenhall market is beautiful passage in the City. Very original and often painted place, gathers a buffing number of people in suits since it’s sitting in between some of the tallest highrises in the City – the Gherkin and the Lloyds building (the latter faintly visible in the background here).
