The Papercuts at the Rough Trade East, London

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Popped into the local Rough Trade store for some records to bump into a live concert there by the Papercuts.  The band is great! I just wish I got the drummer in the picture…

By Galleria Forni in Bologna, Italy

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

This image dates back to my trip to Italy in 2008.  I spent two beautiful sunny days in Bologna then and this was one of my brightest memories of the place. Fantastic architecture lines the historic streets – arcades, or gallerias of shopping and dining,  unique in it’s aesthetics from what I’ve seen before. One of these hides a gem of gallery: Galleria Forni.  I would love to exhibit there one day.

The Dove public house on Broadway market

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

I mentioned on my  facebook that an almost etective story hapened to em over the weekend. This picture is to commemorate it, the recovery of my stolen bike happened right by this pub. Besides being a site for adrenalin rush police chases, the Dove is also my favoarite gastropub  with amazing selection of Begian beers and great food.

Columbia road, East London

Friday, March 20th, 2009

One of my favorite streets in London at the moment. This is where the Campania Gastronomia is that I painted in the past couple of days. On Sundays it transforms into a bustling flower market and the quaint shops dotting the street open their doors ( normally closed during weekdays)… Now off to pick up my camera from the shop so I could post better pictures for you next week here.

Campania gastronomia II

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Another take on the lovely place on Columbia road in London. Mostly I did this one on location, only finishing up some details when I got back home. It’s too nice out to stay indoors in London this week.

Inviting rest stop

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

This is a flashback from my trip to Italy, Montepulciano.  This is a hotel where we stayed, at one of the city’s ancient gates; it was hundreds of years old, with narrow steep steps to the top floor, but the view was worth it. Arriving somewhere in the middle, was this landing with very inviting chairs tempting me to stop for a rest.

Sunday brunch at Campania

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

It’s past 12, time for brunch date on the buzzing Columbia road with the flower market. Campania gastronomia sits at the end of the street and offers great coffee, and Italian style breakfast.  unfortunately I was sick (therefore the lack of paintings in the past few days) and could not try anything but the trusted crostini, but everyone else eating looked very satisfied, including these two tacking in their eggs benedict; a must come-back-to kind of place!
