People I know (3) Tracy

Monday, September 26th, 2011

You see, I suffer miserably from seasonal allergies.  In spite of living by the park, this year was the best  for me so far thanks to my lovely homeopath Tracy, who did her magic on me with the treatments and kindly posed for this number 3 painting in the series.

Pavilion Cafe, Viki park

Friday, May 6th, 2011

Usually a buzzing place, there was no one inside the cafe today, all sunning themselves outside, lingering over their coffees and cakes, irrespective of the very ugly at the moment lake outside, all emptied out, fenced in, with pigeons basing in last remaining water. I think the builders will have us stuck with the site for the rest of the summer. Still, need for the sun prevails and we unflappably take our coffee outside.

Vitamin D(2): Crocuses in sunlight

Friday, February 11th, 2011

I am lucky enough to live near a park so when the sun poked out of the clouds, I run out there to busk in a bit of sunlight. Saw these two little guys doing just the same. It’s a 15×15 cm board, really, their life size. Speaking of life, I’ve been doing some life drawing and will put some out here in a little while.

On the corner of Lincoln’s Inn Fields

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

While on the unexpectedly enxtended trip to Ukraine, I was told I have missed the good weather in London. Did I really miss it though? It was sunny three days in a row since I’ve been home, I even hardly want to talk about it not to jinx it. On Saturday took my bike out to the West end, passing on the way Lincoln’s Inn Fields. Saw a record number of people on the green taking in the sun there.

Here is a take of the favoared green space of the client who commissioned this painting. Will make another take on this scene with more advantageous light, I think.

Hyde Park on a sunny day

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Loved painting  this sun based family walking out of the Hyde Park. Did not sun catching today in the Embankment area. It weather changed five times (inducing rain) during the half hour I spent there.

Sunrise in the park

Saturday, February 14th, 2009

Today’s painting is of a place where I would rather be on a weekend – in the park – when this sun warms us up enough. I am off on a trip in a few hours so it’s a very quick sketch.
