Last post I started a conversation about the transport system. Now painting third image of the river, I realized how little it is used to get around these days. The only few times I was on it it was on the way to Greenwich on a clipper boat. It seems like an amazing way to travel in style, and indeed some people do commute to work on it although it can get pretty pricey (£5 one way ticket).
Also, there are so many house boats that are moored around the river and on it’s canals, so I wonder: are they hard to move around or are they not allowed to freely navigate the Thames. Imagine a perfect situation: as you are finishing up your breakfast in the house boat – the Tower of London gets in view and by the time you are done with your scone – it’s time to dock by the Embankment!

Here is another take on the view from the Waterloo bridge over London’s Embankment. I took about 1 10 minute detour on my bus ride because of St. Patrick’s festivities going on at Trafalgar square, but it was not a drag at all. On the opposite, the detour proved quite rewarding. I hear many complaints about London’s public transport network, but thinking of how complex and expansive it is, I think it gets me around town quite well as it is.
