Somerset House colonnade, 50×70 cm

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Just finished a large painting of the fabulous Somerset House archway entrance. I did a small one of it before and totally fell in love with the image. It’s currently on show with  Real Hampstead exhibit in West London.

Sommerset House colonnade II

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

Getting ready for a show at Hampstead, six of my little paintings are scheduled to go up there  on July 22nd, including this one. This is a well-loved image of mine . The columns create a kind of a natural frame for the painting. In spite of loads of architectural detail, it also looks very minimal.

Somerset House Courtyard

I was very taken by the architecture of the Somerset House. The entryway and the courtyard inside are a joy to paint. Loved the patterns in this composition, the way the sun lit half the space, half left in bluish shade.
