I’ve painted this combo repeatedly because it brings such strong association with short cold days of visiting back home, or taking a trip on a train around the country (see thumbnails below for older paintings).

Besides the new still life, I am updating my olechkodotorg Etsy shop with oldish London 6×6 paintings that came back from the exhibit today.

I set up this still life with the first spring flowers I got at the babushkas’ on my mac to get ourselves into the spring mood.  Mac’s whiteness really underlined the various shades and  nuances of the white flowers – there is so much more color in them.  I must tip off my hat to those bucolic flower painters, it’s hard work to get those little leaves and petals straight!
