Leeds castle continued

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

I still can’t leave the spectacular castle library (see three previous posts on its interior).  I’ve decided, that cushion in front if the fireplace is  all mine. I would spend hours there, reading, and drinking tea.

Tomorrow I will list a couple of 2010 smaller paintings in my Etsy shop that came back to me from var. shows. Stay tuned.

Leeds castle interiors

Thursday, June 9th, 2011

I am starting with the new series of interior paintings today. It was very easy to imagine myself living in here (who wouldn’t) mote around the house, beautiful grounds, and a wall-to-wall library. This is what today’s painting is about.

Flags and colors

Sunday, June 5th, 2011

Today’s painting is second of the account of the Arnold Day in Shoreditch that took place last weekend. Like these because of the bright patterns created by the flags, associates well with my balloons series, plus the light was divine that day.

Arnold Day, brass band

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

Today’s picture is of a lovely occasion – the Arnold Day at the Arnold Circus in East London: brass band, tea and cake, colorful balloons and balmy weather.

Wilkes st.

Monday, May 30th, 2011

Today’s image is of the reflection of the beautifully renovated Spitalfields houses. I have been hanging out in the area a lot lately, for a good reason, more about it later on. Must confess though that the inspiration of Anthony Eyton’s work on the area had a lot to do with my inspiration on the subject.

On the way into town the other day. The afternoon sun shone gloriously through the trees, helped me overlook how long we were stuck in the traffic due to the commotion caused by Obama’s arrival in London.

On the bus to the East End

Friday, May 20th, 2011

This image really grabbed me, the blue dotted dress, the red curls and bright lipstick. On the way to a 50′s party I am sure, although I often enjoy the sight of many people here in East London dress impeccably well in the period style. My friend has been talking me into going to the proper 5o’s dance party for ages. But the idea of getting the right dress, hair and all seemed like too much of an effort. This image proves that it is all well worth it.

Asparagus

Thursday, May 12th, 2011

My quality of life greatly improved when I became a vegeboxer – a part of the growing community of people who get vegetable boxes delivered from Leila’s every Tuesday. Also to mark the third installment of the Leila’s shop report by Spitalfields Life I’ve painted some fresh asparagus I got from the shop yesterday.
