Blue study
Tuesday, June 15th, 2010The inspiration from the Albertina palace continues to pour into these little bright interiors this week.
At the yellow room
Tuesday, June 15th, 2010Loved this dignified gentelmen’s grays contrasting with bright yellow of the interior.
The duke’s office
Saturday, June 12th, 2010The colour combination of the walls and he furniture just blew me away here. Although, not sure what the duke thought of his study, but seeming myself in the mirror as I sat at my desk would be a bit uncomfortable.
The dutchess’ parlor
Saturday, June 12th, 2010This room belongs to the series of the State rooms at the Albertina gallery in Vienna. I lingered in those halls for hours and, as a result, have the material for dozen more paintings if it will keep its spell on me.
Yesterday checked out my small entry on show at the Royal Academy this year. The place was packed for the private view, and the Weston room of small works was impossible to get into an hour into the show.
With the lights on
Wednesday, May 12th, 2010Must have been a dark-ish day outside that the State rooms at the Albertina palace were fully illuminated.

The State rooms
Monday, May 10th, 2010Last week I was lucky enough to spend a few days in Vienna. Albertina gallery was the last on my list and about halfway through it I was ready to give up, after running through a couple of other major museums in the last two days. Only turning around the corner (the museum is quite a maze) I found these amazing rooms in opulent period decor, housing museum’s most precious drawings by Michelangelo and Durer, I got my second breath. The light coming in through the windows into this blue and gold room was just amazing.
